Health Expo 2016

Over 300 people and Tower Hamlets Mayor visit Health Expo 2016

Over 300 people attended the annual Osmani Trust Health Expo held on 14th July 2016 at the Osmani Centre, Tower Hamlets, London.

The Health Expo brings together professionals from the health and wellness industries, NHS services and local community groups with the general public to encourage a lifestyle of health and wellbeing through networking, information sharing and awareness of local health services. Over 30 health related organisations show-cased their services to the public.

The Mayor of Tower Hamlets, Mr John Biggs said “I’m pleased to be here, to show my support for this Health Expo, events like this help to tie people together and to spread information about how we improve services and support people who use our services”

A parent who attended the workshop on children and young people’s mental health said “I really enjoyed the workshop; it helped me, so hopefully I can better support my children”.

Local organisation Rethink held a stall and commented; “nice selection of exhibitors, great atmosphere and very informative, thank you.”

Dr Sharmin Shajahan Programme Manager for Health at Osmani Trust said “we focussed this year’s Health Expo on mental health and ran a free mental health workshop for parents to promote emotional wellbeing for children and young people. People received free information, massage, health checks and found out more about services that can help improve their physical, mental health and well-being. The event ended with an exciting raffle prize draw and winners were overjoyed with their prizes.”
