Accredited Training

A group of young women secured funding from Youth Opportunity Fund to organise and deliver a Hair and beauty programme titled Shamunanya by the group.  Over the course of the last 6 months, Amaal Girls Project supported the young women in delivering a series of taster sessions in Hair cutting, Hair styling, Henna art, Facials, Manicure, Pedicure, Massage and Make up.  These sessions were incorporated as part of Amaal weekly youth club on Tuesday evenings to encourage participation from members of Amaal.  Over 30 girls expressed interest in the programme of which 20 young women took part in the weekly taster programme.

As a group the participants of Shamunanya have selected to undertake an accredited course in Make up application which took place on Saturday 18th July.  13 young women completed the 1 day AQA Level 1 course in Beauty (Make up).

Amaal will also be facilitating the following training courses:

AQA Level 1 The art of Henna  Friday 31st July-Saturday 1st Aug 12noon-5pm
AQA Level 1 Cake decorations  Thursday 20th Aug 12noon-5pm
PACE training    September 09 Date TBC
Emergency First Aid   February 2010, date TBC

The training courses are free and open to all young women aged 13-19yrs.  If you would like to take part in the training you can sign up with Khadeja on 020 7377 8429 or email khadeja.begum@osmanitrust.org.  Spaces are limited and will be offered on a first come first serve basis.  Priority will be given to those who have not completed any training with us before.
