Tower Hamlets Unity Cup Tournament 2010

Tower Hamlets Sports Development Team is pleased to announce the hosting of its second Unity Cup Tournament following last year’s successful introduction into the borough’s sporting calendar.

The tournament is aimed at young people aged 17 – 20 years of age and is a chance for the borough’s top sides to showcase some of their considerable talent.

Taking place on Saturday, 11 September 2010, from between 10am and 3pm at Victoria Park, the initial heat stage will see six local teams all vying to be crowned Unity Champions 2010.

This year’s 6 competing teams are:

•    Millwall Albion FC

•    Newark Youth London FC

•    S.O.U.L FC

•    Bethnal Green United FC

•    Juva FC

•    Vallance FC

The two top teams from the heat stage will contest the final to be held at Mile End Stadium on Wednesday 27 October 2010.

For Tower Hamlets and its partners, the tournament represents an opportunity to raise the participation levels of young people actively engaged in sports and physical activity prior to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Please come down and show your support for what promises to be a feast of football for the whole family

It’s great to see so many young people involved in sports and physical activity that helps them keep fit and healthy.’
