Prevention Programme

Supporting Children, Young People and Families in London (Tower Hamlets) and Birmingham (Small Health)

Breaking the Cycle (BTC) offers a targeted approach to prevent and reduce serious violence amongst mainly Muslim children aged 10-16 through an early prevention and intervention model working closely with schools, social services and youth justice.

We aim to support children, young people and families

Making positive life decisions

Choose positive peer groups.

Improved family relationships

Better awareness of support services for children and young people

We aim to deliver a high-quality service that promotes conflict resolution, resilience and self-determination offering one to one support, mentoring (including home visits), advice, guidance and diversionary activities.

We also provide holistic support, including access to education, employment and training, emotional well-being, access to other services and managing risks to offending. We support children and young people and their families identify their needs and goals.

Families will also receive support which utilises their strengths to develop strategies to implement with their children and young people.
